UPDATE: This event was scheduled for June 26 but has been postponed due to high water levels at the site. Please check back soon for a rescheduled date in early July.
Join The Wetlands Initiative and the Little Calumet River Conservation Collaborative for hands-on wetland restoration days this summer! On June 26 we’ll be at Grant Street Wetland and all experience levels are welcome to help plant native sedges, flowers, and shrubs.
Volunteers will plant wetland seedlings, which will require bending, crouching, and digging. Please dress in loose, comfortable clothing you don't mind getting dirty (long pants, long socks, closed toed, waterproof boots or shoes, etc). Site conditions will be wet and muddy. A port-a-john will be available. All experience levels welcome. Recommended for ages 8+. Snacks, water, and planting tools will be provided. Volunteers may park along Chase Street. For questions, email msaleh@wetlands-initiative.org.
