Join the Wetlands Initiative, the Chicago Park District, and Friends of the Chicago River for a family-friendly volunteer planting event at Indian Ridge Marsh! Come enjoy the beauty of Indian Ridge Marsh and plant native wildflowers, grasses, and sedges in celebration of the 33rd Annual Chicago River Day.
Snacks, water, and planting equipment will be provided and port-a-johns will be on site. Please wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, a hat, and bring a reusable water bottle. Volunteers will assist in the planting of small native plant plugs using trowels, which will require bending, crouching, and digging.
Parking is available in the Indian Ridge Marsh lot (https://maps.app.goo.gl/XP4ih4vuu2BW44cu5) or on 116th Street (https://maps.app.goo.gl/svGB4NrHNoATjbg6A) as you head south towards the parking lot.
For questions or concerns, please contact Marwah Saleh at 646-309-9483 or email msaleh@wetlands-initiatives.org. Registration is not required. We hope to see you there!
