Help restore native habitats at the Dixon Waterfowl Refuge’s Sandy Hollow tract! Volunteers will plant plugs (seedlings) in a savanna area that received a prescribed burn last fall. This will be TWI’s first planting in the area.
Snacks, water, tools, and gloves will be provided, though if you have your own gloves we encourage you to bring them. Please wear appropriate clothing for fieldwork (e.g., long pants, closed-toe shoes). A port-a-potty will be available on site. Children 16 years old or younger must be accompanied by a parent or other chaperone.
Meet at 9:00 a.m. at Sandy Hollow parking lot at the south end of the Refuge. Click here for a map of the Dixon Refuge, located just south of Hennepin, Illinois, off Route 26.
Please email us at twi@wetlands-initiative.org if you plan to attend.
